Yuvraj Singh-funded YouWeCan Ventures has made an undisclosed investment in JetSetGo, a marketplace for private jets and helicopters.


Co-founded by Kanika Tekriwal and Sudheer Perla in 2014, this is the first round of funding that the company has raised.


JetSetGo provides charter customers choice, transparency and flexibility to book a private jet online.Private aviation comprises less than 15 per cent of air traffic in Indian skies, TheTradeBoss Reported.



In a country with over 200 functional airstrips and less than 40 per cent of this connected by commercial airlines, the scope for growth in private aviation for Tier II and III city connectivity is tremendous, the company said.


“Our clientele not only comprise corporate houses, sports personalities, celebrities or HNIs but also those who see value in quick and easy connectivity to locations still not served by commercial airlines,” Perla said.


The investment shows the value JetSetGo is adding, as only a customer can understand the bottlenecks the company is removing and the market it is opening up, he added.

Encryption is the process of scrambling information so that only specific people can understand it. Don’t download what you don’t know

Consider the security of any new software before downloading

One way to help you stay safe online is to ensure you only use trusted, secure software and online products.  If you’re considering installing a new program, ask the following questions:


* Does the vendor have a history of data breaches?
* Does it provide encryption when sending files?
* Does it use secure file transfer protocol?
* Does it offer the option of installing  two-step authentication? 
* Is the company reviewed well online?

A decade ago, I became obsessed with fashion. But rather than trend predictions or whether a Kardashian favours a Gladiator shoe/boot, it’s always been about the supply chain for me. Fashion is a full-spectrum industry, running from cotton bolls to catwalks and employing millions in a chain that runs through the lowest-waged economies on Earth, leaving a hulking eco footprint.


I found so many skeletons in fashion’s closet that I wrote a book to get it off my chest – To Die For: Is Fashion Wearing Out the World? Incredibly, the story got darker. On 24 April 2013, the Rana Plaza complex in Bangladesh collapsed, killing more than 1,100 workers producing clothes for a number of western brands. US documentary maker Andrew Morgan became hellbent on finding out how such work had become such a deadly activity. His film, True Cost (out 29 May), navigates the terrible cost of fashion today with help from Stella McCartney, myself and activist Vandana Shiva and Rana Plaza survivors. Here are five ways to avoid being part of the problem.


1. Only buy if you can commit to wearing the item at least 30 times

Fast fashion means clothes have become disposable. This and lower clothing prices have put the supply chain under unprecedented pressure, leading to outrages such as Rana Plaza and Tazreen (the 2012 Dhaka factory fire that killed more than 100).

2. Invest in trans-seasonal clothes

The traditional spring/summer autumn/winter of international fashion weeks is just for show. Up to 100 new micro-seasons a year is the new normal. So slow down your fashion cycle.

3. Spread your fashion pound around

The global fashion industry is worth $2.5tn. Shouldn’t this be shared? Look for producer-centric brands such as People Tree, which is run to rigorous Fairtrade standards with producers who get a fair share of the profits.

4. Detox your wardrobe

Fashion is reportedly the world’s second most polluting industry after oil. Notably, azo dyes are still the most used synthetic dyes, despite many of them being toxic. Ten percent of the world’s biggest brands have committed to phase out toxic substances through Greenpeace’s detox programme.

5. Join the fashion revolution

The Finishing and Dye Process

Our low-impact dyeing programs intend to eliminate harmful chemicals and waste, providing innumerable environmental and health benefits.

We make conscious decisions about the chemicals and substances we will use in the processing and dyeing stages of production.  Indigenous will not use processes or dyes that we feel will harm the planet, even if they are in mainstream use by the textile industry and available at a much cheaper cost.

The yarns and dyeing processes used by Indigenous are created within the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) and the parameters of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100.   Adhering to these standards assures you that when you wear Indigenous clothes, you are wearing high fashion clothes that are made through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing processes for apparel made of properly handled organic materials.

As standards continue to evolve, we will continue to be active participants in numerous organic trade associations and certifying groups.  Indigenous is a recognized innovator and supporter of advancing legitimate, credible standards and accountability in organic and environmentally friendly production.
